So, what exactly is the Wehrdienst model?
Wehrdienst refers to military service, especially compulsory military service, which was a significant part of Germany's defense model for much of the 20th century. Conscription (Wehrpflicht) was suspended in Germany in 2011, and since then, military service has been voluntary.
